This is story about a young boy grappling with his mum’s post-natal depression.

Not exactly your standard picture book. But having experienced PND with both my kids, I know that part of the ordeal is worrying about what effect you’re having on your kids. My aim with Happy Pants was to provide a resource for kids and parents – and to bring hope.

I was thrilled when my friend and nearby artist Liz McGrath agreed to illustrate.

Happy Pants was a recommended title in the Australian Family Therapists awards, 2015

"Happy Pants is a heartfelt way to help older children know that their mum's postnatal depression is not because of them, that dads are loving and caring, families can support each other and that mum will get better with help."

Belinda Horton, Chief Executive Officer,

PANDA (Post & Antenatal Depression Association)

"With PND still often hidden or not spoken about, this book offers the opportunity to begin the conversation."

Dr Nicole Highet, Executive Director

COPE (Centre of Perinatal Excellence)
